How to solve common wallpaper problems Jul 13,2021

When the wallpaper of different materials encounters problems, the repair method is definitely different, such as: non-woven wallpaper and PVC wallpaper, if you encounter problems when hanging the wallpaper, or there are spots or bubbles on the wallpaper, then you can take Some measures to fix them.

Poor color or pattern matching

If you find that you cannot match the first 2 or 3 lengths of the pattern, it may be because you have trimmed too much from the edge of the paper during the manufacturing process. Make sure to inspect the entire batch of products and take any nonconforming products found back to the retailer for replacement.

Different production batches may have tint changes, which is why you should always buy all rolls at the same time and check if they have the same batch number. If you find that the volumes with the same batch number still have some differences, you can try to have the supplier replace them. If this is not possible, then use these lengths in areas where they will not be displayed, such as behind furniture or in windows. Look at your room and evaluate the low-light areas and use them there so that the changes are not so obvious. The difference in color difference of modern striped wallpaper will not be so obvious.

Persistent bubbles in the wallpaper

As the wallpaper dries, the small bubbles should disappear, but sometimes you will see those bubbles that persist. This happens because the paper swells after hanging, usually because it hasn't been soaked long enough, or sometimes if you put a new wallpaper on an old wallpaper.

Before hanging new paper, you should always peel off the old wallpaper, because the moisture in the paste will cause the old paper to swell and cause blisters.

To solve this problem, cut the bubbles with a razor blade, and then use the artist's brush to apply a new paste behind the bubbles. Press the wallpaper back in place and make sure to wipe off the excess paste to avoid staining. If the entire wallpaper is severely affected by air bubbles, you'd better peel off the entire wallpaper and hang a new one to ensure that there is enough time for the wallpaper to soak.

Your wallpaper won't slide

There are several reasons for this: the wall has absorbed the water in the paste, the size of the wall is not appropriate, or the paste dries too quickly.

If too much water is mixed, the wall will absorb water from the paste. Always follow the instructions on the package for mixing and do not try to add more water to further mix. Put this piece of wallpaper back on the pasting table, make a new batch of thicker pastes, and reapply before trying to hang it again.

If you think the lack of sliding is due to the improper size of the walls, then make sure to use glue size on them, as this is easier to slide than sticking.

The last option is for the glue to dry too quickly-make sure to turn off the heating in the room or try to open the windows.
